Rare Candy: A Pokemon Gallery for Charity

Last Friday was the opening reception to the gallery that Amy Kim and I curated. It began as a fun idea about a year ago and was inspired by http://pokemonbattleroyale.tumblr.com/




With only a month before school and graduation, we managed to get the gallery set up with the help of San Jose's Umpqua Bank and the owners of Anno Domini Gallery and the coordinators of South First Fridays Art Walk, Cherri Lakey and Brian Eder.

All of the proceeds made from the auction will go to Canines for Disabled Kids, a non-profit organization that enhances the lives of deaf and physically disabled children by partnering them up with trained service dogs.

The Rescue

After BFA today I spent my afternoon working on this piece for the Nothing But Nets Art Auction!

Over 200 million people are affected by Malaria each year and over 600,000 die from it with the majority of them being children under the age of 5. Please, if you have a few minutes, take the time to inform yourself about this devastating disease! One single net can protect a family of 4 from Malaria for over 3 years!!! :O Many already have donated and so can you!!!
