ARGH'e MATEY

Art 28 Illustration Midterm
Topic: Pirate Ship

It's a paradox of a pirate drinking whiskey on a pirate ship inside a bottle! haha

Detail Shots

The pirate could have used a bit more contrast with the ship! :[ I'll fix it someday hehe...

Ball Drop Test #2

So I went to the animation lab last night and got a lot of help from craig, the shm website designer, with my frames! I think it was 1:40am when I came back to my dorm and redid my ball drop. This morning, I went back to the lab and met Eric from the Yee's 12:00 class. He critiqued my ball drop and told me to cut some frames down, and to remember how GRAVITY works! hahah... So here's my 2nd test!

Anyways, my ball's name is Borgus.
Birthplace: Transylvania, Romania
Background: Likes to meet other bouncy balls to have a bouncy bounce time! Secretly sucks the blood out of other bouncy balls when they aren't looking, making itself bouncier than before! ;D

Frank Gladstone Lecture: Visual Elements [Day 1]

So from the Frank Gladstone Lecture today, I learned a lot about cinematography! I MEAN A LOT! Light, Color, Composition, Movement!
Prologue, Act I, Act II, Act III, Epilogue! "Once upon a time," "___ lived happily ever after." Progress, Reverse, and so much more that I haven't ingrained into my head just yet.
Also from this lecture, I found out that I really need to watch films. A LOT. I am film deprived, tv deprived lol. I am deprived! haha shoot. :\ Gotta step it up, as always. :]
Here are a few sketches from today's lecture

Contemplation

So I was thinking about actually printing and selling my own shirts like my friend in Florida had done. Why? because it's difficult to win a t-shirt contest just to get a design printed, but that's just me.

I'm not sure when i'm going to do it, but if I do, I would need to save enough money to get a few shirts printed.

Who knows...
My brains hurts, I need to draw and create some art; specifically, three giant ideas that have been rooting in my mind for quite some time.

I'll be busy this whole month with midterms, readings, papers, and so forth. I'll try to have my other design done in a few weeks.
Here's a design placement preview which still needs a lot of work and anvils.
