Rare Candy: A Pokemon Gallery for Charity

Last Friday was the opening reception to the gallery that Amy Kim and I curated. It began as a fun idea about a year ago and was inspired by http://pokemonbattleroyale.tumblr.com/

With only a month before school and graduation, we managed to get the gallery set up with the help of San Jose's Umpqua Bank and the owners of Anno Domini Gallery and the coordinators of South First Fridays Art Walk, Cherri Lakey and Brian Eder.

All of the proceeds made from the auction will go to Canines for Disabled Kids,
a non-profit organization that enhances the lives of deaf and physically disabled children by partnering them up with trained service dogs.
http://caninesforkids.org/

If you weren't able to make it out to the opening reception, the show runs till the 17th of May, so check it out!!!

You can also check out the online gallery/auctioning site which my awesome friend, Denise Magdale and her boyfriend, Matt Drollette designed.

Go bid here! :)

I had the opportunity this past week to do a poster for my friend's tuba recital at state!
Unfortunately, I'll still be in Socal for CTN that weekend but for those who are around and about on the 18th, and are fond of tuba and its large and voluptuous sound, please come check the show out! :)

Folo folo olie-o

So after months of planning and a lot of blood, sweat and tears, here is the portfolio I submitted for the Animation/Illustration program! Thanks to Cody, Kristina, Craig, Kim and a few others at the peer review for critiquing my work! I feel grateful for having gotten solid and golden advice from you guys in terms of design decisions, and selection of artwork. Thanks to my close friends for tearing my personal statement apart like no other. YOU GUYS KNOW WHO YOU ARE!!! DIG DEEP*** XD hahaha.... It made me realize and remind myself why I wanted to do this in the first place, despite going though some tough times this year. I still have a long way to go and I'm looking forward to what the program will bring me if I get accepted! :)
